We are
committed to doing business the way our customers want to do business.
This has led us down many different avenues
in computing and communication, which are continually being refined and
growing.
Mainframe
We have utilized an IBM mainframe since the
early 1980's for the day-to-day processing of orders, shipping and receiving,
invoices and inventory management. We have recently made our third mainframe
upgrade to an E Series AS/400.
Communication
In serving our customers we maintain all
standard forms of communication including phone, fax, and e-mail. For
emergency situations we offer 24-hour availability via pager service.
Easy Payment
In addition to cash and checks we accept
Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards as well as Electronic Fund
Transfers.
PC's
Our entire inside sales staff is equipped
with PC's that are connected to a Local Area Network (LAN) as well as to the
AS/400. Through the AS/400 network they have direct access to all customer
data and order information as well as inventory status. Through the LAN the
inside sales staff have access to a common contact database utilizing ACT!
Contact Manager.
Intranet
Utilizing our Local Area Network we also have
in place an intranet site. Here we keep track of common documents and procedures
that apply to all the inside staff. We also have links to common web sites
such as freight carriers for tracking shipments.
